Yin Keng was a famous poet during the Liang and the ChenDynasty, who also was one of the pioneers of five-character poem and animportant writer in the transition process of mediaeval poems turned fromthe Yong Ming style to the Jin Ti style. His words had a great impact on. thepoets and poems in the Tang Dynasty so that he was praised many times byDu Fu. His landscape poems was featured by flesh style, quiet differentfrom the showy, prurient Gong Ti style. His name was mentioned together withHe Xun. All above should make him have a position in history of Chineseliterature. But duing to the lack of historical materials of Yin Kenghimself and the insufficiency of his words, the present learned researchon Yin Keng and his words is still not enough, so this thesis will probeinto problem from four sections below. The first section is about Yin Keng's life, hometown, and extraction.Besides eliminating the false and retaining the true of Yin Keng's lifeand hometown, the important point is to have a re-cognition of Yin Keng'sextraction. After analysing his first official title, and the detailofficial system in the Liang Dynasty,we believe that the Yin surelycouldn't be compared with the first-class aristocrat like the Wang in LangXie, but belonging to the common aristocrat is still reasonable. Based onthis, we can deduce his birthday. The second section is mainly about the content and classification ofYin Keng's poem.Yin Keng's poem was classified into five kinds in term of their subjectmatter:the trip poem, the saying goodbye to friends poem, the uphill andease poem, the boudoir poem, and the thing poem. we can have a deeperunderstanding of his thoughts and feelings after the expatiation of eachkind of his magnum opus. The third section focus on the artistic style of Yin Keng's poem. The achievement in rhyme of Yin Keng's poem had been discussed a lotbefore, the thesis about the artistic style of Yin Keng's poem turns tothe following aspects:One, flesh and terse language, making good use ofliterary quotation. Two, paying great attention to the modification andrefinement of words, aspiration for the beauty of "matching both sound andsense in two poetic lines".Third, the artistic conception is inintegrity, the joint of thought expression and scenery depiction isinvisible. The fourth section is the impact of Yin Keng's poem on the contemporaryera and later, including the contemporary poet Zhang Zhengjian and thefollowing Li Bai,Du Fu and so forth. From the analysis above, we come to some conclusions:First, concerning the historical materials of Yin Keng himself, we foundthat the recordation in the history has some mistakes;the four viewpointsprevailing in the academe are trustless;the emphasis is that Yin Kengwasn't of humble origin, but of noble one, which can explain why his poemstyle seemed to be more energetic, bold and generous than eponymous He Xunwho was really of humble origin.Second, Yin Keng's poem can be classified into five kinds:the trippoem, the saying goodbye to friends poem, the uphill and ease poem, theboudoir poem, and the thing poem. Their subject matters are not verycomprehensive, but compared to the contemporary Parnassus, Yin Keng's poemseemed unique, especially some words related to the social reality, whichremind us that the essence of poem is to express one's temper.Third, as far as the artistic style of Yin Keng's poem isconcern, besides the achievement in rhyme, Yin Keng's poem has thefollowing traits:flesh and terse language, making good use of literaryquotation;paying great attention to the modification and refinement ofwords, aspiration for the beauty of "matching both sound and sense in twopoetic lines"; the artistic conception is in integrity, the joint ofthought expression and scenery depiction is invisible. His poem hadcertain impact on the contemporary poet Zhang Zhengjian and the followingLi Bai,Du Fu and so forth in certain extent.
