A Research On The Psychological Development Of Overseas Left-behind Children Aged From 5 To 7 In Changle, Fujian

It is the first time for domestic psychology to have a study on the overses left-behindchildren in Changle Fujian with the Demenstration Method.The research studies thepsychological development of overseas left-behind children aged from 5 to 7 with thequestionnaire developed by ourselves which is of satisfactory validity and reliability.Dividing the overseas left-behind children into two kinds which are welt-developedresilience-children and less-developed non- resilience -children, we want to find out thesupporting factors of well-developed resilience -children by visiting and talking withthem. The result shows that:(1) The general psychological development level ofoverseas left-behind children aged from 5 to 7 in Changle, Fujian is a little higher thanmoderate level.(2) Male and female overseas left-behind children aged from 5 to 7 aresignificant different on habit and self-care ability: Female children are better than malechildren. (3) The general psychological development level is not significant differentbetween overseas left-behind children aged from 5 to 6 and those aged from 6 to 7. Onthe dimensions of cognition, speech, moral character, sociality, habit and self-care ability,the overseas left-behind children aged from 6 to 7 are a little better than those aged from 5to 6, while the overseas left-behind children aged from 5 to 6 are better than those agedfrom 5 to 6 on movement skill. (4) Single-parent upbringing and skip-generationupbringing are significant on two dimensions of the general psychological developmentof overseas left-behind children, and so are single-parent upbringing and othersupbringing: single-parent upbringing way is better than single-parent upbringing way andothers upbringing way on moral character and sociality. Single-parent upbringing way isbetter than others upbringing way on habit and self-care ability.
