From the perspective of psychology, we have our research on the overseas left-behind children in Changle Fujian with the empirical method. The research studies the emotion regulation ability of overseas left-behind children with the questionnaire developed by ourselves which is of satisfactory validity and reliability. The result shows that: (1) The general emotion regulation ability level of overseas left-behind children is a little lower than moderate level. (2) Overseas left-behind children and non overseas left-behind children are significantly different on the general emotion regulation ability: Overseas left-behind children are better than non overseas left-behind children. (3) Female overseas left-behind children are significantly better than male overseas left-behind children on the general emotion regulation ability. At the same time, for the lodging female and male overseas left-behind children, the children from towns are significantly better than the ones from rural areas on the general emotion regulation ability. (4) The overseas left-behind children in Senior high school are significantly better than the ones in junior middle school on the emotional cognition and the general emotion regulation. It shows that the emotional cognition improves with the grades.
