Researches On Reliability And Validity Of Rorschach Suicide Constellation(S-CON)

The Rorschach test has long been used to assess suicide abroad. Many variables predicting suicide have been raised since then. The Rorschach Suicide Constellation(S-CON) put forward by Exner is the most widely researched variable. Studies showed that Rorschach S-CON can predict suicide effectively. This research attempts to discuss whether S-CON is valid in Chinese samples.The Rorschach test was used to the normal (N=30), depressive disorders and other patients with suicide or self-harm ideation and behaviors (N=60) together with Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS) and Suicide Ideation and Behavior Questionnaire.Results show that: 1) All S-CON variables have good reliability; 2) depressive disorders have significantly higher S-CON scores than the normal; 3) S-CON significantly relates to SDS scale. 12 of the 20 variables relate to S-CON significantly, in which FV+VF+V+FD and Color-shading Blends have higher correlations; 4) those with suicide ideation and those used to commit suicide have significantly higher S-CON than others.
