Group Rorschach Inkblot Study

The projection test( Rorschach Ink-Blot Test and Thematic Apperception Test) originated from a new area of research methods in psychology. They can avoid the defaults of the questionnaires and provide a new way to study the unconsciousness section of the personality. But the extensive use of the test was limited by difficulties in explaining results. Therefore its merits were closed in a large range. On the other hand, the questionnaire method is convenient to explain results due to its norm. Compared with the projection test, questionnaires cannot avoid the hypocritical reflections of the object. It is also superficial in measuring the personality structure. The famous Rorschach Ink-Blot Test, introduced by the Swiss psychiatrist Hermann Rorschach in 1920s, is by far the most popular projection test. But it came under severe attack in part because it lacked standardized procedures and a set of norms. And it generally falls short on two crucial criteria : scoring reliability and validity. Team Rorschach Ink-Blot Test is made by professor Ben Ming Kuan of the Zao Dao Tian University on the basis of Rorschach Ink-Blot Test. This test combined the virtues of the projection test and the questionnaire, and made them compliment each other. Team Rorschach Ink-Blot Test not only can measure the deeper sections of the personality, but also can be used in team. The most characteristic of Team Rorschach Ink-Blot Test is its norm. Thus it decrease the influence of subject in the test and made it convenient to analyze and explain the result. Team Rorschach Ink-Blot Test measures personality abnormity and personality trait, such as self-control, society consciousness, impulsion trend, anxiety, melancholy, etc. In this study, in sum 1556 objects were selected from middle school, high middle school and university. Team Rorschach Ink-Blot Test' reliability and measure criteria were tested. The test has good reliability and some measure criteria were good too. On the basis of the research results, research norm was made, but they should be tested further in practice. This is the first use of Team Rorschach Ink-Blot Test in China. It is significant in education, teaching, psychological consultation etc.
