Catalogue And Discription Of Chinese Ancient Calamity Literature

Although a number of literature that recorded calamity in China history, being very difficult to search restricts the research on the ancient history of China. There is not only one special category of literature of calamity or disatour that can be used in either ancient or modern time. In this article, from the perspective of bibliography, we choose the topic of "The calamity,disaster literature catalogue in ancient China history", and through researching on classical literature and category investigate the basic situation of cataloguing,classification and description in the classical literature, analyse the characteristics of disaster literature cataloguing in the classical catalogue, probe into the law of description and cataloguing. We anticipate to offer theory preparation and basic thinking for compiling used in searching conveniently.This article can be devided into three parts:Part one, investigates and analyses the discription of disaster-policy literature in the classical category. China's classical bibliography was very developed. There were many kinds of classical categories in which disaster-policy literature were recorded. This supplies much precious information for the present scholars who study the ancient history of disaster-policy. In order to offer clue for exploiting and capitalizing these disaster-policy literature and preparatory works for compiling new disaster-policy catalogue, it is necessary to disclose the classification of disaster-policy literature in the catalogue through investigating and analyzing the ancient catalogue due to the difference of idea in classification and setting out classification between ancient and modern bibliography.Part two, investigates and analyses the classification including calamity information in the classical catalogue.There were many kinds of materials recorded systematic and rich natural calamity and disaster in anicent history literature of China. Since their subjects not inluding natural calamity and disaster, these classical catalogue did contain such classification design. It also severely affects the use of these literatures. For example, although some literature like , recorded a number of calamity and diastoure information in the official history, they can not be identified definitely and used conveniently in catagory of classical catalogue. In this part, through investigating and analyzing the classical catalogue we disclose the literature including calamity information from the potential classification. This is good for developing and exploiting the literature of calamity and disaster more widely and deeply.The third part which elaborates the necessity and possibility of establishing contents on disaster and famine in Chinese ancient times.Its necessity mainly manifests in four aspects, namely academic value,discipline value, historical value, social value; Its possibility has two aspects, Chinese classical literature is very rich,which includes topic and literature remains on compiling fanmine.There are many classical contents.Recording a wealth of literature famine, but also including a rich compilation of a famine information literature.And these provided us with an excellent bibliography tool,and it provides a weapon for our investigating famine literature resources.
