Fuzzy Words In The Official Documents

In 1957, D·Jones, the famous linguist of England, began to observe the fuzziness of language. The study of Fuzzy Linguistics was started by other countries early, mainly discusses word and grammar fuzziness. It was started lately in China to apply the Fuzzy Linguistics to the study of the official documents, which is just the theme of this article.There are three parts in the article. The first one is the theory of Fuzzy Linguistics and the Fuzzy Language in the official documents, including the theory of Fuzzy Linguistics such as What's Fuzzy Linguistics and Fuzzy is inevitable attribute of natural language, the introduction of fuzzy words such as its type and characteristic, the Fuzzy Language in the official documents such as its nature , characteristic and function , fuzzy words in the official documents such as its inevitability and function, etc.The second one is the focal point in the article, based on the State Documents Selections of China from 16th People's Representative Meeting. Discusses some type of fuzzy words which often can be seen in the official documents such as the fuzzy words which express the time ,the degree, the range and the nature, focus on the words prompt,important,related and new. It can be illustrated from the ample discusses of its top and bottom, the membership and the relativity that the fuzzy words have special function in the official documents.The last one is summary. Why do I choose the fuzzy words which express the time , the degree, the range and the nature as my study object? The reasons are their highly appearance frequency, practical value and my interest. It can be learned the similarity and difference of prompt,important,related and new by comparing. I attempt to distinguish fuzziness, vagueness, generality and ambiguity so that the fuzzy language in the official documents can be used correctly.
