This thesis attempts to study Verdi' s opera, Aida andexplores the deep contain of the opera in terms of the views of arts andthoughts. The study focuses on the music and the scenarios of the operaand takes the theory of ontology and sociology.The thesis contains three parts:Partâ… states the historical background of the creation of the opera,Aida. The creation process of Aida is briefly presented from the view ofsocial background and creative motivation, etc. And the main idea of theopera is generally discussed.Partâ…¡puts forward the view of arts shown in the opera, Aida. Thispart explores two layers of artistic views of Verdi' s opera. Firstly, theopera is humanism oriented. Based on the humanistic theory, the formationof Verdi' s humanism is explored. With the humanistic views displayed inAida, Verdi' s pursue for operatic humanism can be found easily. Secondly,the creations of operation seek entirety and systematic display. This parttakes the music and chorus of the opera as the focus to fully presentVerdi' s artistic view of systematically and entirely operatic display.Partâ…¢discusses the view of thoughts shown in the opera, Aida. Thispart bases on Verdi' s view of society and life and explores the themesof the opera in the following four points. The first is the criticism forthe reality. With the medium of Aida, the strong objection for the theocracyand critics for the reality is presented. The second is the Verdi' s view of love. The faithful, loyal and strong love is his dream. Although theending of the love story is somewhat miserable and tragic, the heroesfinally overthrow the limitation of autocracy and bring back the humanityand their love, which deeply impress people. The third is the greatexpectation of the coming back to homeland. In the opera, Aida has a strongfeeling for his homeland when he feels disappointed. While his feeling forhis homeland is not simply homesick, his deep thought for the life can befound through the understanding of the Verdi' s opera. The fourth is theanthem for heroes. The characteristic of the hero, Ladames, and music helpto show the growth of tragic hero and the social importance of the tragicending.The comprehensive discussion above is the author' s original creation.Aiming at the opera, Aida, the thesis wholly explains the spiritual eliteof the opera from the opera itself to its contain and from creativemotivation to creative sprits so that the cultural value of the opera isclearly displayed.
