Study On The Students Abroad In Suzhou In Modern Times

This Paper mainly studies on 967 students abroad who were born, had studied Jived, worked in Su Zhou in the period from 1894 to 1949, analyzing their first time and age of going abroad, the countries and specialties they studied, the degrees and their outstanding achievements attained through the ways of history, sociology and statistics. Students abroad in Suzhou started to go abroad in big amount mainly since 1890, just conformed with the third, fourth, fifth eras of the whole students abroad of the country. For the students abroad in Suzhou, not the total amount was more, but also the proportion of the female students was more, their degrees attained were high, and the most important point was their outstanding achievements. Through these characters, we can see the solid economical foundation, rich history and cultural inside information, comparatively complete basic education systems, predominant geographic circumstances and the nice education qualifications of families in Suzhou, and etc. As the most important part of the students abroad, the female students in Suzhou also had their own characters. In the same time, their time and age of going abroad, the countries and specialties they studied, their degrees and achievements attained, the factors influencing them going abroad are analyzed in this paper.
