As an inseparable island of China, Taiwan is always coveted by Big Powers, as it has significant strategic position and abundant economic resources. At the beginning of the modern times, because of the Qing Dynasty's corruption, the Big Powers intensified the act of aggression.In 1895, the rising Japanese colonialist invaded Taiwan after its winning in the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895. Taiwanese were unwilling to be slavers of Japanese, so they rose up in resistance. A special resistance power is the aboriginal people settling down in Taiwan. During then and later 50 years when Japanese colonialist ruled Taiwan, this special power was always active in the struggle against Japanese colonialist. They set a good example to all nationalities in later ages, and showed the form of struggle which connected to their own national traits, which enables us to understand the minority nationality far from the mainland better. For the backward socialized organization, the Anti-Japanese War of the aboriginal people in Taiwan most ends in failure, but during the Japanese Colonial Period, this brave resistance power hits the Japanese colonialist grievously in coordination with the Han nationality. It threatens the colonial domination all the time.By citing historical facts, using comparison research and so on, this dissertation emphatically inquires into the peculiarity, significance and influence of the Anti-Japanese War of the aboriginal people in Taiwan during the Japanese colonial period. Then we can come to such a conclusion: the Anti-Japanese War of the aboriginal people in Taiwan has its own peculiarity; it is in connection with their national traits, particular environment of Taiwan. It's an important part of the Anti-Japanese War of China. And the indomitable spirit during the struggle deserves to be learned by every Chinese. To study the Anti-Japanese War of the Aboriginal People in Taiwan has its theoretic and Realistic Significance in recalling predecessor, cautioning posterity and consummating our understanding of the Anti-Japanese War of China.
