Idea of aesthetic education, cultural critic and literary criticism were perfectly blended in Li Changzhi's practice of critic. From his words we can apprehend his strong longing for ascertaining the relationship between sense and sensibility and the idea of aesthetic which endowed life with refined form. And we can realize his cultural idea of expecting the coming of Chinese renaissance. Furthermore, we can feel his criticism informed with sincerity.Combination of beauty and good was Li's idea of aesthetic. And ancient German aesthetics, aesthetic education of ancient China and the development of jade culture of China were the sources of Li's idea of aesthetic. The first part of this thesis interpreted Li's idea aesthetic education and tried to explore his noble mind between sense and sensibility from three points so as to reveal the philosophical and emotional foundations.Chinese renaissance was Li's cultural idea. Li ChangZhi considered the May 4th cultural movement as 'the superficial sensibility'. 'Western usage of Chinese forms is right, wholesale westernization is wrong, and China is the standard' were his dialectic thoughts of the relationship between traditional Chinese cultural and western cultural. The second part tried to enter into the central region of Li's cultural ideas according to his theories and melted into his enthusiasm for 'Chinese renaissance'." Emotional criticism" was his most typical critical theory. The introduction and use of such theory enriched theories of modern literary criticism and widened its road. The third part enunciated the meaning and unique charm of this theory from four clues: the love of experience, the attitude of criticism, the praise of life and the style of emotion.
