Translation Variation Theory And Translation Teaching

This thesis focuses on translation variation theory and its integration into translation teaching. It aims at a research of applying the creative and relatively new translation theory widely to the practice of translation teaching as soon as possible to achieve a prospective result in training more and more qualified translation personnel for each and every country to meet the needs of the information times. And at the same time, translation variation theory can be checked against practice in order to develop, enrich and perfect itself, and then give more effective guidance to practice.It has five parts: part one introduces its background, main concerned areas and significance; part two includes the nature of translation variation, the characteristics of translation variation, the relation between translation variation and complete translation, means and methods of translation variation and advantages of translation variation; part three involves the categories of translation teaching, translation teaching vs. teaching translation, the importance of translation teaching, the significance of translation theory to translation teaching and the picture of translation teaching in China; part four discusses application of translation variation theory through translation teaching, integration of translation variation theory in teaching syllabus, in teaching material and in testing translation, and implications of translation variation on translation teaching; part five concludes the thesis and points out that the practice and theory of translation variation are important to translation studies, translation teaching and economic development of all countries in this world of globalization, the teaching of translation variation will fill the disjointed gap between education and the actual need of society, but a great deal of painstaking work and further research need to be done in this field.
