The article mainly discuss the problems concerning the intermediate oralChinese teaching in view of Constructivism. In order to enhance the effectiveness ofour teaching, and help learners to improve their oral communication skills, the authorinvestigates the current intermediate oral Chinese teaching to analyze its problemsand predict its development direction under guidance of Constructivism. The article iscomposed of 4 parts except the preface and the complementary comments.Chapter 1: On basis of the previous achievements, clarify the definition andmanifestation of oral Chinese; the criteria of grading of intermediate oral Chinese andhierarchy separation; teaching objectives, characteristics and contents. So we can geta scientific understanding of characteristics and tasks of intermediate oral Chineseteaching.Chapter 2: On the constructivist philosophy of knowledge, teaching and learningactivities, student views, and state the guiding roles of this theory.Chapter 3: Point out the problems of the current intermediate oral Chinese teachingand reflect on these problems on basis of Constructivism and the researchachievements. The unsatisfactory teaching results are caused by the following factors:the relative obsolete teaching ideas; improper definition of roles of teacher andstudent; the qualitative and quantitative characteristic of teacher's words in class; theunsatisfactory teaching material; the lack of active awareness of students.Chapter 4: On the development direction of intermediate oral Chinese teaching: a)create a situation favorable to constructivist activities; b) reform the teaching methodto achieve the coordination and interaction both in and after class; c) achievemultivariate evaluation to enhance the active awareness of learners; d) utilize theinformation technology ( multimedia or network).
