Ever since Wei, Jin and South and North dynasties of China the tradition ofChinese painting has generally attained mature and complete. "Six methods" theory which Xie hein Southern dynasties put forward has been become the classic rule of people appreciation andcriticization since more than 1,000 in the last years. The articles of talking the color have been notmuch in the past and the greatly parts of articles have been talked from the usage and techniqueof the concrete color. Proceeding from "drawing color adhere to the type",this text trys to carry oncombing to the color of the development process in the past Chinese painting.From the angle ofhistory and esthetics, the text analyses and enunciates the original meaning of "drawing coloradhere to the type", the connection of other five methods with "drawing color adhere to thetype",the history development and position of"drawing color adhere to the type",and changes andsignificance etc. From the personal fulfillment, the text sets out to examine the relationship anddevelopment of contemporary painting and color.
