China has both a good tradition in attaching importance to moral education and rich heritage of the thoughts of moral education. As an important part in this heritage, Pre-Qin Confucian moral educational ideology has deeply mixed with our whole nation's ideology and code of conducts, at the same time, it has important influence on the development of our nation's soul, political life, cultural attitude, moral and value conceptions. All these are saying the necessity of a special research of it and the revelatory significance the further discussions, re-valuations and re-explanation on their moral thoughts can bring up, in terms of the improvement and effectiveness of moral education and raising the sublimed talents.This dissertation, based on the re-explanation of Pre-Qin Confucian moral educational ideology and trying to probe its enlightenments to modern practices, includes the following four parts.Part one is on the theoretical base of Pre-Qin Confucian moral educational ideology, and argues, although the Confucians have divergences on the questions of human nature, such as whether it is given good or evil, it is common for their thoughts of human nature in emphasizing the moral need of continual enrichment or perfect model of personality so as to have the possibility and necessity of moral education proved thereupon play the theoretical base of moral education doctrines;Part Two is on its contents, such as the target, maters and methods of moral education, and concludes, above all, they have proved the moral education plays an irreplaceable role in state affairs, thus propose the target of the ideal Gentlemen characters, the key maters of benevolence and propriety to educate; also concluded a set of effective methods mainly including the teaching of accordance, example, enlightenment and persuading, acclimatization, edification, nurture and so on. Meanwhile, they have self-education input in the contents and put forward corresponding requests for instance, a person should be learned and cautious at thinking, restrict and examine himself, mending his ways and so on.Part Three is on its characteristics and thinks five points are principle. Which are, first, as a guiding idea, to carry out the guidelines of morality priority and holistic harmony such as individual harmonious relation with group; second, to set down idealized goal the example saints are leading towards thereafter an educatee can follow; third, to concern the input of affectivity in a moral education process; fourth, to pay attention to the accordance of knowing and doing, leaning and practicing; and, fifth, to respect educatee with an awareness of moral self-consciousness' importance.Part Four is on the suggestions gained from the research of Pre-Qin Confucian moral educational ideology. First, we should construct a new starting point based on the concepts of kind-heartedness. Second, We should improve modern character's training and advance educatees' personality based on the ideal target of ideal "Gentlemen Character"; third, We should adjust our concepts in school education by drawing up positive principles Pre-Qin Confucianism offered; fourth, We should optimize school circumstances to moral approaches, suggested by Circumstance is of educator; and, fifth, we should improve civil moral quality, suggested by A good city is run by good citizens.
