Research Into Composition Of Chinese Paintings On Ethnic Minorities

Chinese paintings on ethnic minorities refer to those paintings on all Chinese minorities except Han ethnic group. This thesis, with the subject of Chinese minorities as a clue, studies the paintings of this subject in history and modern society, the painters and their artistic styles. Based on the fact that this subject was largely depicted in history, this thesis examines the development status of the paintings on this subject and reveals the significance of this subject to the development of Chinese paintings. The author presents his own ideas on this subject on the ground of his own experience.This paper consists of three chapters.Chapter one is a brief review of Chinese paintings on minorities.Firstly, it discusses the definition and characteristics of Chinese paintings on minorities.Secondly, it analyzes painters and Chinese paintings on minorities such as Tubo, Xianbei, Qidan and Xiongnu in the recorded history.Thirdly, it expounds the general artistic style of ancient minority subject.Chapter two is a general survey of Chinese paintings on minorities in modern and contemporary society.Firstly, it analyzes the cause of rise and prosperity of Chinese paintings on minorities.Secondly, it construes the artistic styles of the painters and their paintings of this subject from the aspect of realistic artistic language, exaggerated and deformed artistic techniques and decorative techniques.Thirdly, it discusses the salient characteristic of this subject---- lyricism.Chapter three is mainly about the experience the author accumulated from practicing and his view of the future of Chinese paintings on minorities.According to what the author said above and his experience of painting on minorities, he presents his own ideas and holds an optimistic and positive view on the future of Chinese paintings on minorities.
