Only in comparision with civilized another civilization or more civilized systems of reference, can one civilization discover itself strengths and weaknesses. Buddhism's transmission into China made it possible for the first time for China culture to get the opportunity to compare with other culture, to examine itself and improve its level. "Hongming ji" is the first work of collection to defend and propagate in the Chinese Buddhist history;it is also the important materials to study the early development of Buddhism in China and the relationship between Confucianism ,Taoism and Buddhism. To study the Early development of Buddhism in China is of great importance for intercultural exchange and communication."Influence of foreign defence" is Huajiacou the face of national integration and cultural ethnic contradictions in the conflict, and it was used to defend the authority of the national culture and enhance the theoretical weapon for national self-confidence; its essence is the difference between human being and animals. "in the wisdom of the Chinese Sages on the issue of use of the cultural values, there is a cultural centre and the tendency of cultural cohesion and strengthening the dual role of self-isolation. In spring and Autumn period, the Central Plains farming civilization was more advanced than the surrounding area. It was natural that the Han culture influenced the minorities, but the culture of the minorities also have an important contribution to the cultural development of Han ethnic. The minorities changed the Han ethnic. This means that the mutual influence is more in line with historical facts.In this article the debate was divided into three parts according to order of time ,that is,'Mou Zi Li Huo Lun','Yi Xia Lun'and'San Po Lun'. Through analysis, we found that both sides recognize the debate as a distinction between the influence of foreign cultural standards priority in the standard blood standard racial and geographical criteria. The two sides often use the same arguments, or the same measures (as quoted by the pseudo-Sutra) to prove their views which conflicted with each other–for Buddhism and against Buddhism. This is different from the characteristics of the other arguments in "Hongming ji".The debate was mainly occurred between Buddhists and Taoists. Participate in the debate with the large number of heated rhetoric, involving a wide range of the characteristics of debate closely. The Buddhist rebutted the Taoist's views one by one, the debate involve the cultural transcendence, cultural commonality, cultural advantages and disadvantages, how to understand "filial piety" concept, translation and so on. Both sides of the arguments were out of the way on their own views. In the debate, in addition to some abusive words, there were little political intervention. It was a free form debate. This was the result of Hyun has the free talk in Weijin dynasty, the unique political environment, and the Buddhists'wisdom.As to the process of debate, the early period focused on cultural issues, then focusing on political issues later. The Dialectics level of Buddhist was higher than that of the Taoists. Buddhists in the debate has taken a more flexible strategy. The Buddhist avoided, the popular justice. In Confucianism, declared that different culture had different customs, thus fully expressed the willingness to compromise to the mainstream culture .The Buddhists explained Buddhism with the local ideas. They differentiated Taoism from Tao school, praising the latter, denying the former.The outcome of the debate fully exposed the weaknesses of the Chinese civilization, impelling the Chinese intellectuals to pay attention to Buddhism, to study and absorb Buddhism. The Buddhist successfully removed the resistance to Buddhism, attracting more intellectuals to enter its field,thus paving the road for the further development of Buddhism in China. The Buddhists proved that Buddhism was helpful to the ruling monarchy, providing the theoretical basis for the cooperation between Buddhism and imperial authority. The debate ended up with the Buddhists achieving a short-term victory against the Taoists.
