This thesis, which is divided into seven parts, studies thevariation of tombs of Yuan dynasty and Ming dynasty (from 1276 to1683) in the lower reaches area of the Yangtze River, whose dates areidentified or can be judged approximately .The first part, as the preamble , outlines the scope of the study,and divides the tombs by four stages: before the late 1360s, the late1360s to the early 1420s, the early 1420s to the late 14th century, andthe late 14th century after.Partâ…¡to partâ…¤expound respectively the general situationof tombs in each stage. Each part is divided into three sections: theshapes of tombs, the distribution of burial objects and the varieties ofburial objects.Part VI, which is divided into three sections, analyses the tombsof the four stages, and sums up the understanding of them. The firstsection researches on the change of the shapes of tombs in each stage,and analyses the social phenomena they indicate ? the second sectionsums up the distribution and the varieties of burial objects in differentstages , and analyses the reason? by the rules concluded above, the lastsection analyses the tombs whose dates are unidentified , and judgestheir approximate dates.Part VII summarize s the whole above.
