The Compentence Research Of Psychology Counselors In College

This paper takes the counselors in college as research object, uses literature review, questionnaires, behavior event interview and other psychology research techniques to construct the counselors in college competence behavioral questionnaire and then assess the level of the counselors in college competence. Therefore, it proposes the way to improve the counselors in college competency.At first, counselors in college are asked to do some half open-ended questionnaires and do the behavior event interviews in order to know the competency teachers' behavior performance regarding to their motives, traits, self concepts , knowledge and skills. Then it investigating 100 counselors in college. Further more, it carries out factor analysis to explore the competent intrinsic constitution of the counselors. The result indicates that the competence of all the counselors in college contains nine aspects as following:, life oriented, job interest, open, reliable, easy-going, honest, knowledge and experience, administrative eskills, and self-conscious. The paper also assessed the level of counselors in college by using "The self-rating questionnaire for the competence of counselors in college ". The result indicates that the current competency levels of the teachers are in better medium level. The competency among the counselors with gender, varied age, education background major, working year, demonstrates not significant difference; counselors in college with variation in major and working year claims significant difference in some dimensions in the competency survry.
