Study Of Feng Xiang's Clay Sculpture Package Design

Fengxiang clay sculpture is an exotic flower of Shaanxi Fengxiang folk art. In China's reform and opening up process, it transforms smoothly by efforts of local actors, from the old "playing goods" to China's tourism market hot souvenirs, mutual gifts of relatives and friends and home decorationsWith the fact that Chinese tourist souvenir marketplace maturity and fierce competition of the same industry, the functional change of Fengxiang clay sculpture and consumer groups replacement, make the original simple package of Feng Xiang clay sculpture cannot adapt to this change, cannot meet the needs of tourists and bring the aesthetic function of the requirements. Therefore, researching and designing a series of new packaging, is the problem this paper tries to solve.After bringing forward the problem, the author repeatedly make researches of the Fengxiang clay sculpture, the package and the survival state of market, and recognizing that the necessity and urgency of packaging design for it..In order to showing the Fengxiang geographical and cultural customs, the prominent characteristics of the unique artistic perspective, I worked in the packaging design of Fengxiang clay sculpture, hoping to make it as an starting point in the development of the packaging of all the Shaanxi folk art. And I also hope that through these private arts packaging, to show off the Shaanxi people's aesthetic and cultural spirit. In order to embody this spirit more well, during the discoursing, the author applies "Complete shape " of Gestalt theory as the basis ,by analyzing the graphics, shape, color, cultural connotations of Fengxiang clay sculpture, comparing of the aesthetic experience of similar pottery works, inferring the elements characteristics and the applications of the packaging design.
