When investigating things, the Japanese tend to review them overall: therefore, when it comes to express them in the Japanese language, they also tend to express them directly and bluntly, which explains why there are full of all kinds of verbs and describing verbs in spoken and written Japanese language. The study on verbs and compounds verbs by the Japanese Linguist Yoshiyuki Morita has revealed that forty percent of the daily used verbs in the Japanese language is compound verbs, which stands to reason to think that compound verbs plays a vital role in the language.Based on the part of speech of their components, compound words can be divided into four categories, namely, "Verb+Verb", "Noun+Verb", "Adjective+Verb" and "Adverb+Verb". Since the category of the "Verb+Verb" compound words is the most complicated compound words both in quantity and in structure, the study focuses on it to reveal its essential features. By studying the two books as Categorized Words list and Compound Words Data Collection, the author compiles many a tables. By virtue of these valuable tables, the author explores the compound words in terms of both its meaning and structure pattern.
