Civil Aviation Pilot Occupational Safety Consciousness Research

Civil aviation is representative of high risk industry , ensuring flight safety weighs most in the important civil aviation jobs, and pilots play the most crucial role. Judging; from our civil aviation flight safety accident analysis, 60% or so flight accident is brought about by the pilots. Superficially these flight accidents are caused by pilots' unsafe behavior , but the pilots' unsafe behavior is controlled by their occupational safety consciousness. Thus, the lack pf occupational safety consciousness is the real deep cause of accidents. Based on the above analysis, the study on the theory of civil aviation pilot occupational safety consciousness, the present situation and the corresponding measures has the vital practical significance.Civil aviation pilot occupational safety consciousness refers the overall psychological process during that the pilots keep the personnel, the thing and the environment in flight away from danger ,including safety cognition, safety emotion and safety volition three dimensions.On the basis of constructing the occupational safety consciousness theory of civil aviation pilot, the questionnaire of civil aviation pilot occupational safety consciousness was compiled. By predicting to 300 pilots, the questionnaire item analysis, the factor analysis reliability and validity analysis were finished ,and then the formal questionnaire was composed of 46 items. The questionnaire Cronbach's Alpha modulus is 0.937, has fine reliability. The factor analysis verified the theory hypothesis for civil aviation pilot occupational safety consciousness, the questionnaire had fairly good content validity and construction validity.A questionnaire survey was conducted on 1310 civil aviation pilots in China Southern Airlines, Air China Limited, Hainan Airlines, Civil Aviation Flight University of China as well as civil aviation safety supervises in every province and city, then 1023 effective questionnaires data was entered into SPSS13.0 and analyzed.It was found that civil aviation pilot occupational safety consciousness was good, but not excellent; the development of three dimensions in safety cognitive, safety feeling and safety volition was out of balance, the safety volition level remarkably was lower than the other two dimensions. Meanwhile, it was also found that the safety education and the safety condition of pilot's affiliation and individual quality were key factors to affect pilot's occupational safety consciousness; the pilots frequently accepted the safety education had remarkably higher occupational safety consciousness level than those occasionally accepted the safety education; the pilots from affiliations with good safety condition had remarkably higher safety consciousness level than those from affiliations with average safety condition; students studying flight had remarkably higher occupational safety consciousness level than those professional pilots.Finally, it is suggested to improve civil aviation safety performance and reduce the flight accident rates by innovating safety education, disciplining safety volition, intensifying environmental influence and strengthening pilots' occupational safety consciousness.
