As the one of the most ancient text in the word, Chinese character has undergone thousands of years of evolution. Although it has not changed on the nature of ideographic characters, but its physique structure has actually had the very big change. Throughout the history of the development of Chinese character, we discovered that the development of Chinese characters had be the process which actually simplify gradually. Xiaozhuan is to the dazhuan simplification, lishu is the right xiaozhuan simplification, and kaishu is the simplification of the lishu. The Chinese character has had the massive simplified characters in the long simplified process, although each character's concrete simplification way and the simplified degree are different, they had actually engendered the profound influence to the Chinese character's configuration system. Many of present Chinese character are ,directly or indirectly, from historical these simplified characters, but also the majority had also simplied according to these simplified character's simplified rule and the simplified principle. These explained that the Chinese character's simplification is an important phenomenon in the history of Chinese character, also has the very important value of research. However, the indispensable data for study is deficiency, so the study on simplification of Chinese characters isn't thorough and systematical in academic world.In the period of Han, Wei, and Jin Dynasties, the Chinese character had experienced by the zhuanshu to the lishu ,and to the kaishu. These two important simplified stage has the very important status in the history of Chinese character. In the gradually simplified process , the T-shaped characters, strokes, components of Chinese characters had all undergone great changes, thus the simplified characters had produced massively. The inscription of Han, Wei, Jin Dynasties take a great part in number, and well recorded and preserved the specific state of the massive simplification of Chinese characters, from one aspect reflected the using status of Chinese characters in this period. Thus systematical research to carving writing material on the inscription of Han, Wei, Jin Dynasties have an important value.This thesis contains five chapters. On the statistical basis of simplified character on the inscription of Han, Wei, Jin Dynasties, we mainly analyze the Chinese characters' simplified process in this period. And at the same time, we combine synchronic and diachronic methods together to discuss the trait, law, reason, the relation between characters and words and the influence on the characters of later ages through investigating to a great deal of examples. In order to provide the valuable material and the research conclusion for the developmental history of Chinese characters and general philology, and to provide the useful material and the theory basis for the modern Chinese character's reorganization, simplification, and the work of Chinese character informationization.
