Androgyny generally means the combination of two sexes' psychological characteristics in the field of psychology. Basing on the standpoint which suggest masculine and feminine temperaments are two different dimensional structure, S.Bem compiled Bem Sex Role Inventory (BSRI) and the research of androgyny began. Many researches at home and abroad show that androgyny individual possesses higher level of psychological health, which is a kind of ideal pattern of personality. However, some controversies come up in some current researches.This research applies adjective assessment to compile poll on normal college students' sexual roles, which is reliable and credible. 475 normal college students from four universities in Chongqing have been tested on this poll associated with the table of symptom self-assessment SCL-90, mainly using Analysis of Variance, Factor Analysis and so on. The results are as follows:1. On the whole, in view of the distribution of sexual types among normal college students, Androgyny takes up the majority, which shows that androgyny has become the tendency of current college students' ideal sexual role.2. As for sex, Androgyny is more in boys than in girls and more in men than in women.3. Considering major, androgyny is up to 41.89% in arts majors, while masculinity rate is much higher among science students than arts students. However, femininity rate is higher among arts students than science students;4. As to class, androgyny is lower among freshmen than senior students.5. Normal college students' SCL-90 scores are lower than the national norm,showing that their mental health is lower than the average.6. Androgyny is the most healthy in psychology among normal college students, followed by masculinity, femininity as well as unclassified. The mainly positive traits are the key factor that affects mental health.
