The Influence Of Emotional Labor On Stress Reaction About Insurance Salesman

Since Hochschild proposed emotional labor concept in 1979, psychologists and organizational managers has been paying more and more attention on this concept applied at work. In recent years scholars are beginning their serial research on this area in China. Particularly as the rapid development of insurance industry, insurance salesman team is increasing. Salesman is typical emotional labor group. Therefore, it is very important to study the situation and influence of emotional labor concept applied at this group. This research has raised its research objectives based on cross-national emotional labor literature reviews and collations of related concepts and theories. This study has used questionnaire which targeted at insurance salesman as research methodology. This research studied the variables of insurance salesman' s emotional labor primarily. Through many statistics methods as Exploratory Factor Analysis and Confirmatory Factor Analysis, Regression Analysis and Structural Equation Modeling, discussed the relationship between emotional labor and stress reaction and the function of coping style works as a moderator between emotional labor and stress reaction.The study obtained conclusions as follows:Firstly, multiple differences in demographic variables such as gender, age, position and so on, have been found on emotional labor and stress reaction.Secondly, there exists remarkable positive relevance between emotional labor and stress reaction, and there exists different degree' s correlations between different dimensions of emotional labor(except deep acting) and stress reaction. The different dimensions of the emotional labor have different degree' s effect on different dimensions of stress reaction.Thirdly, deep acting-one dimension of the emotional labor has none relevance with stress reaction and any dimensions of stress reaction.Fourthly, coping style has different moderate effect between different dimensions of emotional labor(except deep acting) and stress reaction.
