| In the western music culture, string quartet is of special importance that many master composers put delicate and deep emotion in it. Since string quartet involves various performing skills and abundant power of expression, it is very important to be careful in the relationship between the performers and in constructing the soundstructure of multi-parts.In the thesis I will focus on "cultivating the mind for cooperation", to study the highest form of chamber music—string quartet. Chapters will cover the importance of learning to perform string quartet, the importance of cooperation and an overview of Chinese string quartet performance.
