Study On Niu Xiu

Niu Xiu is a well-known literary sketchbook writer in the Early Qing dynasty. The paper tries to study him basing on his works and some materials, so as to estimate Niu Xiu's station and effect in the history of literature objectively. Secondly, it reflects the hardship of ordinary people, condemns rulers's cruel oppression, which derives from Niu Xiu's traditional Confucian thoughts and sense of integrity. Thirdly, it exposes the corruption of fedual government, which derives from Niu Xiu's advanced political thoughts and rough official career. Fourthly, it commends the prominent women, which is closely linked to Niu Xiu's advanced view on women. Fifthly, it advocates traditional Confucian thoughts affected by admonish tradition of literary style novels.
