The Researches Of The Adverbs In "Lie Zi"

Adverb is the most complex parts of speech in ancient Chinese words. At the same time, the amount of it is the largest and the range of it is the broadest. The study of adverb is significant to the research of grammar in ancient Chinese words because adverb can modify verb. There are still many unsolved problems, though people have already got a lot of achievements on adverb study. For example, some ancient works have no detailed statistical analysis about adverb. So the author chooses one of works named Lie Zi to analyze its adverb without any limit.The thesis divides adverbs of Lie Zi into seven categories:adverbs of inclusive scope adverbs of time a,adverbs of manner,adverbs of degree, conjunctive adverbs,negative adverbs,modal adverbs classifies evry group according their meaning,explores the semantic direction of some of the adverbs,concludes the grammar characteristic of every a roup. During the orderly descripting of every specific adverb,their evolution and changed over time is also taken into accout,the are compared with nomal usage of preqin period and other period.thus,synchrony and diachrony,static stste and dynamic stste are organically integrated together,so much so that Lie Zi,formerly in plane forms, now gains a tendency toward stereoscoy.Inconclusion,the thesis combines microcosmic analysis and macro-scopical exploration closely,unveils some basic characteristics of pregin Chinese by studying adverbs of Lie Zi.
