The Interaction Between Chu And Yue Cultures From The Archaeological Perspective

Chu, Wu and Yue had been three of the most influential regional states during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States period. The interaction between Chu and Yue cultures is a very important academic topic, on which scholars have not come to an agreement up till now. There are three reasons for the dispute among researchers. First, the origins of the Chu and Yue. Second, the characteristics of the Chu and Yue cultures. Third, the interaction between Chu and Yue cultures from the archaeological perspective.To answer the three questions, I have collected and researched almost all of the historical and archaeological materials concerning the relationship between Chu and Yue, especially the typological comparing of the archaeological material culture both from the Chu and Yue regions. There are 5 parts in this dissertation.Chapter 1, the review of the academic history of researching to the interaction between Chu and Yue cultures, my strategy to this topic and structure of this dissertation.Chapter 2, discussing the origins and developing history of Chu and Yue cultures and summarizing the characteristics of the Chu and Yue cultures.Chapter 3, analyzing Chu's expansion in south China and Chu culture's assimilation on Yue cultures.Chapter 4, the Yue' s cultural influences on Chu on the perspective of archaeology.Chapter 5, summarizing...
