The Study On The Relationship Of University-freshman' Personality, Locus Of Control And Coping Style

This research tends to explore the relationship of Personality, locus of control and coping style.400 university freshman were measured by "Cattell the Sixteen Personality Factor Text or Questionnaire (16PF)", "Internality, Powerful Others, and Chance Scale(IPC)"and" Coping Style Questionnaire(CSQ)".The software Package of SPSS15.0 was adopted for analyzing the data. .The results are the following:1. On the factors of Personality, locus of control and coping style, there is no remarkable difference between boys and girls; but Pontificate differences between city and village, science and arts, only-child and non-only-child.2. The ones have high scores of aggressiveness and Persistency, always tend to internality; the ones have high scores of suspicion and anxiety but low stability always tend to chance.3. Stability, excitement and X2 can predict active coping style; suspicion, anxiety can Predict Passive coping style and mixed coping style. Passive coping style is negatively correlated with Persistency and stability.4. As the medial factor between Personality and coping style, the locus of control as well as Personality, can also influence coping style, however, the effect is not Proficient, which needs further study.There are two conclusions different other researches: first, the boys and girls has no remarkable difference neither on Personality nor coping style. Second, the non-only-child has more active quantities on Personality, locus of control and coping style than only-child.
