The Research On The Indidation Origins Of "Shuowen-Shuibu" Pictophmetic Characters' Phonetic Sign

Some pictophmetic characters's phonetic sign can indicate the origins of words. But so far, scholars have been controversialed about a question either it is an accidental phenomenon or one of the characteristics of the words, the theory of the phonetic sign indidate the origin of the words need a lot of examples to support.This paper attempts to show the function of phonetic sign by research the Pictophmetic characters in "shuowenjiezi-Shuibu ".This paper is divided into three parts. We explanate the theory of the phonetic signs ,the purpose of this study and the method of the research . in the theory , there are two ways of phonetic signs how to indidate the origins: "source of meaning esists in phonetic sign's original meaing" and the "source of the meaning esists in phonetic sign 's jiajie meaning.on second ,rsearch 70 Pictophmetic characters in"shuowen·shuibu" and show this 70 Pictophmetic characters in two types. The third section summarizes the characteristics of the phonetic sign indidate ource of meaning in "shuowenjiezi - Shuibu".Our research based on the ancient and modern writings and can objectively show the characteristics of the phonetic sign indidate source meaning in shuowen-Shuibu".
