In the 20th century, the revolutionary speech once controlled the contemporary China and melted into the everyday life of The Great Public People, while some characters manifested in the process of the revolution could be dated back to the word resource "revolution" ,traditional and contemporary revolutionary speech. My paper aims to do some research about "revolution", plus the literal and implied meaning of it in the May forth speech context. Based on the revolutionary thoughts of the writers, I search for the concrete displays of revolutionary speech and conclude the "revolutionary characters" of different styles of literary works. The paper consists of four parts. The first part deals with the formation, development and the establishment of the "revolutionary speech". The word "revolution" can be found in the ancient Chinese. Liang Qichao introduced the word to China and endowed the revolutionary speech with new contemporary meaning. The revolutionary speech developed quickly after the 1911 revolution. As a method of neglecting the history and the traditional culture, revolution was affirmed in other social fields and "revolutionary speech" finally became the contemporary speech. The second part analyses 'revolution" in the may forth speech context, I mean to explain the literary revolution preached by Hu Shi and the revolutionary thoughts. Hu Shi tries to liberate the literature from the political control but it was still trapped in it. Since literary revolution is called revolution, it is naturally connected with the main revolutionary trend whose characters are always violence. The third part analyses the literal meaning of revolution in the may forth speech context. Based on the analysition of revolutionary speech, I will conclude the "revolutionary thoughts" in the theories. The meaning of revolution was developed and formed different revolutionary speeches. I will describe the basic characters of the "literary revolution" speech. I will tell the difference between Hushi's and Chenduxiu's definitions of revolution. The Zhou brothers realized the importance of "thought revolution" and point out that literary revolution should not stop at the stage of word reformation but should solve the problem fundamentally. It should burd the task to educate the thought and reform the society and human's lives through practical coposition. The forth part analyses and concludes the "the revolutionary characters" in the May forth revolutionary compositions. The may forth revolutionary literature starts from the reformation of the literary words and characters. Lu Xun's fiction ' the diary of a mad man' pushed the limits of the virginal theories and made the real innovation in the contents. The author deals mainly with the new poem and new fiction ,and search for the revolutionary characters of them as the weapons of the revolution. It starts from the concrete works and then explain the revolutionary speech in the may forth literary revolution and describe the revolutionary characters of the plays and the transport media at that time. The conclution points out that the contemporary Chinese history, the literary composition aims at the manifestation of the revolutionary speech in all classes of the society due to the difference of the meaning of revolution in different time.
