The Attachment Of Children Left In Rural Areas And Its Influence On Their Life Satisfaction

Attachment is an emotional bond between children and others, characteristic of mutual affection and intimacy. The long separation between attachment children left and their parents led to change in attachment relationship, which affects the ideas of others and the opinions of myself, as well as its influence on their life satisfaction.The questionnaire is available for this research , and it takes 1135 junior high school students in three general middle schools (grade 1, grade 2, grade 3) of Henan province as participants, which researches on attachment subjects, the attachment characteristic of children left in rural areas, as well as its influence on their life satisfaction.After collecting and analyzing the data, we can make a conclusion as follows:(1)Attachment subjects of children single parent left for work are his/her mother, father, friends; Attachment subjects of children parents left for work are his/her caregiver, mother, father, friends;(2)There are not only coherence which mother attachment plays a leading role, but also independence among children left multiple attachments, and independence plays a leading role.(3)Time of left and contact frequency with outer parents don't influence attachment of children left with parents. The more frequently outer father keeps close contact with their children, the more secure attachment relationships between father and their children is,at least outer father contact once every month. The more frequently their outer parent keep close contact with their children, the more secure attachment relationships between mother and their children is, at best outer parent contact once every week.(4)For those children whose single parent left for work, father, mother and friend attachment can predict children's overall life satisfaction, father and mother attachment can predict family satisfaction, friend attachment can predict friend satisfaction, both father and friend attachments can predict environment satisfaction, friend attachment can predict satisfaction with self, father, mother and friend can't predict school satisfaction.(5)For those children whose parents left for work, father and friend attachment can predict children's overall life satisfaction, father and mother attachment can predict family satisfaction, friend attachment can predict friend satisfaction, father and friend attachment can predict environment satisfaction,satisfaction with self,school satisfaction, caregiver attachment hardly predict children life satisfaction, only caregiver trust can predict children satisfaction with self.At last, I had a discussion about the studying result, which pointed out the shortcomings of this study and future research directions.
