But under the political background of the "Great Cultural Revolution", the "flag of Dazhai" gradually evolved from a good example of agricultural construction and self-dependence into a political model of "Left" tendency. This campaign not only disturbed the normal development in our agriculture but also led to much confusion in thoughts and policies. It caused severe disturbance and destruction in the development of agriculture and the whole countryside.At present, the opening and reform have been going on in our country for 30 years and the prevailing campaign of "Learn from Dazhai in Agriculture" involving every village and town in China has already come to an end. Under the guidance of scientific view of development, the construction of new socialist countryside has been widely carried out, which is a great program to solve the problem of "san nong (concerning the fanners, the village and agriculture)", in the historical condition of achieving great accomplishment in the course of reform and opening to the outside world. But looking back at this period of history, we can't help but sign for the bitter cost in probing into the construction way of our socialist modernizations and feel sorry for the zigzagged course of agricultural development. We can't help putting forward the questions: Why was so good an original intention evolved into a movement of political nightmare? Why did the industrious and earthy farmer models become political ones pushing the "Left" mistake? Moreover what can we draw from the political campaign, which affected a lot the construction of our socialist modernization, for our new rural construction nowadays? What precious elements there are worthy of our learning and recognition? These questions need our rational reconsideration on today's point of view.Just for the consideration of the above-mentioned points, this article, based on today's perspective, makes a retrospection and reconsideration of the campaign of "Learn from Dazhai in Agriculture" in order to unscramble it for some valuable things.
