There are many grammatical functions in "a little " of both Chinese and Vietnamese. They can be separately used with Noun Phrase (NP), Adjectival Phare (AP), or Verb Phare (VP) in the sentence with different grammatical functions, showing different characteristics and significances. "A little" in Chinese and Vietnamese have many similarities and also differences. This easily makes students to commit mistakes in learning, for example, the use of their confusion, putting it at the wrong position in the sentence, and so on. This paper is divided into five parts to research.1. Introduction: the reason of my choosing the topic will be cleared in this part. I will also focus on research overview on this topic, the mandate, methods and corpus in this paper.2."A little"in Chinese. In this part I will analyze the Chinese "a little bit" and its usage as combined with NP, AP, or VP in the sentence in reflecting the meaning, and its study of asymmetry of the Chinese "a little bit" with reference to human laws are of the adjective, and in non-human laws are of the adjective, adverb and extent of the total now, with a total time of the adverb. When "a little bit" combined with the NP, "a little bit" limits the number and scope. Before the NP, it is from restrictions on the number of NP semantics of the "little". After the NP, the NP expressed the space constraints of semantics. When "a little bit" combined with VP, "a little" changes in the restrictions of the VP. When "a little bit" is placed in the front of VP, it means a very small amount of negative to achieve a complete denial. "M?t chút" can only appear before the NP, the number of restrictions on the semantics restricts the changes of VP, "m?t chút" before VP means emphasis. "M?t chút" restricts on the semantics of change if VP is a complex verb, this verb structure is to reflect changes in static or displacement of restrictions. When "m?t chút" combined with the AP, "m?t chút child" limits the extent of AP. "M?t chút" after the AP, means that if "m?t chút" is before the AP, the AP shows the extent of restrictions.4. Comparison between Chinese "a little" and the Vietnamese phrase "m?t chút". In this section, I will compare Chinese and Vietnamese "a little bit," many of them are the same points but there is a comparison of different points. My analysis will be from significance, syntax and sentence and the use of the sentence in comparison to their usage of the same points, through analysis of their position with POS usage and also the position in the sentence, in their different points. The number of the phrase "a bit" between both have many of the same points, there are no differences between the less. Why is it so? We believe that the reasons have many similarities, one of the very important reasons are: Vietnam and China are neighbors, the two peoples are from many close ties, there is a long time cultural-exchange. Far in China during the Qin and Han dynasties, the Chinese have begun to spread into Vietnam. Since then, as long as 1,000 years, the Chinese have been as Vietnam's official text. Obviously, the more the Chinese language is extremely far-reaching impact. It is this historical and cultural reason, coupled with the type of language, Vietnamese and Chinese are the same type of language - language in isolation.
