A Study On Sino-Vietnamese Adverbs Of Degree In Modern Vietnamese

There is no doubt that Sino-Vietnamese words is taking an important role in Vietnam language treasure.Many studies related to Sino-Vietnamese words have been made,however,most of them focus on the study of the original,pronunciation,semantics,structure as well as vocabulary.In terms of part of speech,scholars seem to conduct more researches about content word.At present,the research on Sino-Vietnames function words is still in the exploratory stage as there is no research on each subcategory.One-third of Vietnam function words come from rooted-Chinese words.Among them,the number of Sino-Vietnamese adverbs account for the largest proportion which are one of the most frequently used as grammatical devices.Moreover,Vietnamese language teachers find it difficult to explain Sino-Vietnamese for foreigners.We collected 87 Sino-Vietnamese adverbs in modern Vietnamese based on combination relations and semantic features of words.These 87 Sino-Vietnamese adverbs were divided into 10 subcategories: Sino-Vietnamese measure adverbs,Sino-Vietnamese descriptive adverbs,Sino-Vietnamese commentative adverbs,Sino-Vietnamese negative adverbs,Sino-Vietnamese extent adverbs,Sino-Vietnamese sudden adverbs,Sino-Vietnamese degree adverbs,Sino-Vietnamese time adverbs,Sino-Vietnamese frequency adverbs,Sino-Vietnamese style adverbs.Modern Vietnamese has the largest number of Sino-Vietnamese degree adverbs,23 words in total,respectively accounting for 26.44%.There are a number of Sino-Vietnamese degree adverbs in modern Vietnamese which contain more up-to-date research topics with highly comprehensive content.The use is more flexible and the transfer of parts of speech is more complicated.Therefore,this paper which is entitled "A study on the degree of Sino-Vietnamese adverbs in modern Vietnamese" aims to deliver a comprehensive and systematic explanation of the adverbs in modern language.From the perspective of synchronic and diachronic,this article which is based on theoretical interpretation and corpus analysis,addresses full explanation of the concept,definition,part of speech transfer,range of use and usage of Sino-Vietnamese degree adverbs in modern Vietnamese.Moreover,the Sino-Vietnamese degree adverbs will be compared with the corresponding words in modern Sino-Vietnamese in order to find out the common and difference between Chinese and Vietnamese.This paper is organized into eight chapters,as below:This article begins with the introduction of the reasons,significance,current research status and existing problems,theoretical basis,research purpose,research methods,research framework and corpus sources for research field.The second chapter named “Overview of Sino-Vietnamese degree adverbs in modern Vietnamese” focuses on a more detailed explanation of relevant content of Sino-Vietnamese degree adverbs in modern time including definition,clarification.At the same time,the synchronic and diachronic planes are combined to show the phenomenon of word class transfer of Sino-Vietnamese degree adverbs.Meanwhile,the third chapter surveys current usage of Sino-Vietnamese degree adverbs in modern Vietnamese,concentrates upon the usage of Sino-Vietnamese degree adverbs in modern Vietnamese.From the perspective of a diachronic plane,this chapter investigates the formation,development and change of Sino-Vietnamese degree adverbs in modern Vietnamese.Chapter 4 focuses on the three plane theories of grammar,showing the commonness and individuality of all degree adverbs in Vietnamese,Vietnamese degree adverbs,Sino-Vietnamese degree adverbs Chinese degree adverbs through a mind map.At the same time,it also determines the common and difference among the internal components of the Sino-Vietnamese degree adverbs,as well as,further analyzes the basic features of the syntax,semantics and pragmatics of the Sino-Vietnamese degree adverbs in modern Vietnamese.The fifth and sixth chapters analyze the individual cases,and investigate and analyze the words or word families corresponding to the Chinese degree adverbs in modern Vietnamese.Based on the factors such as high error rate,high frequency of use and complexity of use,we compare and analyze the degree adverbs corresponding to the degree adverbs in modern Vietnamese.Chapter 7 investigates Vietnamese Chinese learners' understanding,grasp,translation ability,as well as errors of the Chinese characters in the Sino-Vietnamese words,so as to further propose some corresponding countermeasures for Chinese teaching and dictionary compilation.)The eighth chapter is the conclusion,which summarizes the main findings,basic viewpoints,innovations and shortcomings of this paper,and puts forward the follow-up thoughts...
