"Transforming consciousness and gaining wisdom" , which is firstly proposed by Yogacara school of Buddhism, is a fundamental issue in philosophy and religion. Based on this theory, this thesis briefly discusses the issue from the perspectives of necessity, possibility, and reality. Through the analysis of Wang Chuanshan' s theory of transforming consciousness and gaining wisdom, we probe into how he transmits and reforms the culture of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism. Meanwhile, by comparison the thoughts of philosophers, Buddhists, and scientists in modern and contemporary times to the issue of transforming consciousness and gaining wisdom, we try to construct an integrated global cultural model, and try to find some useful enlightenments for philosophy, science and religion digest and fusion, and for globalized cultrue reconstruction.In the introduction, we mainly make a brief statement of writing background, research trend, research significance, creation and research methodology of the thesis, and then explain theoretical significance and practical significance of Wang Chuanshan' s theory in present.Chapter one: "tracing to the source of 'transforming consciousness and gaining wisdom' " . In this chapter, we briefly introduce "transforming consciousness and gaining wisdom" in the scope of the theory of consciousness-only and Chinese traditional philosophy.Chapter two: the Wang Chuanshan' s theory of "transforming consciousness and gaining wisdom" . It falls into the following parts: introduction to the historical background, the theme and the contents of Wang' s theory, and then comparison Wang' s theory to consciousness-only theory. Through the previous study, we can sense the flexibility and innovation of culturally carrying out and giving up.Chapter three: a comparative study of Wang' s theory and modern theory on the issue of transforming consciousness and gaining wisdom. Through the analysis of the thoughts varying in Wang' s theory, and other philosophers, scientists and Buddhist eminent monks, we try to find out the commonness on the thoughts of "ultimate concern" , cultural fusion and innovation.Chapter four: practical significance of Wang' s theory. We briefly clarify the practical significance of Wang' s theory on reconstructing the spiritual homeland of human and constructing an integrated global culture.
