The conception of Emotional Intelligence has drawn widespread concerns at academic circles since its introduction. There are fewer studies on emotional intelligence ability model and self-report model contrast to more and more studies on emotional intelligence. The west had discussed the relationships between emotional intelligence and decision-making bias, but there is no concern about it in our domestic. In this study, we discussed the differences between the emotional intelligence ability model and mixed model through studying the MSCEIT and EIS. Based on the MSCEIT, we explored the individual differences and development of emotional intelligence and its influence on decision-making bias. This study mainly discuses the relationship between emotional intelligence, cognitive intelligence, personality and decision making bias. Participants were from five universities in Shanghai and Shandong, a total of 639 members. Emotional intelligence was messured with both ability model (MSCEIT) and self-reported model (EIS). The survey data was used SPSS and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to the main analysis. Results indicated that: the MSCEIT has better constructive validity than EIS; there has moderate relationship between emotional intelligence and traditional intelligence(cognitive intelligence); Emotional Intelligence and Cognitive Intelligence are independent mental construction, and are subjected to a beyond hierarchy:General Intelligence; eomtional intelligence and personality are not the same mental construction. Emotional intelligence involves the ability to carry out accurate reasoning about emotions and the ability to use emotions and emotional knowledge to enhance thought. In general, there is no significant difference in sex and profession, but the results indicat that the grade has a significant impact on emotional intelligence with juniors have better EI than freshmen. This study also found that the cognitive intelligence does not straightly influence on decision-making bias, however the emotional intelligenc has immediate effect on it. So the study supports the view that the cognitive intelligence affects decision-making bias through emotional intelligence. Lmitations and implications for theory and practice are discussed.
