Intuition and rationality is respectively core concept of Liang's first and later period thought. Through casting back the process of bringing forward and replacing the two words, the article analyzes the variability and invariability of Liang's adjacent periods thought, then the theory and realistic reasons that caused such result. The change from intuition to rationality is the symbol that indicates Liang's thought is more and more mature ,it is also the inevitable result caused by the need of theory development and the change of major social difficulties. But essentially, Liang Shuming's adjacent periods thought is consistent. Firstly, intuition can effectively distinguish the characteristic of Chinese culture from the western culture, but it can't distinguish the humanity from the animal because of it's character of instinct, therefore, it is unable to be the reality of Chinese culture and the world culture. As the change the social question, Liang brings forward the intuition to solve the question of proving the existence of Chinese culture, and then the rationality to solve the matter of how to develop Chinese culture. After the long-term thorough ponder, Liang shuming awakens that he must replace intuition by rationality to solve the contradiction of theory and practice. We all know, Liang takes the explanation of the life question and the social question as his goal, and devotes his whole life to coordinate the relationship of the national modernization and the Confucian ideal of life, and realize them together. Liang tries hard to take the Confucian rationality as the value that backing the Chinese modernization, then distinguishes the Chinese new modernization development model from the western modernization development model. The village construction that leaded by Liang is not so successful, but, the excavation and innovation of Confucian culture by Liang shuming still has the great significance, especially to the theory and practice exploration of the national modernization.
