Charles Dickens was a great realistic British writer of 19th century,who made a rich artistic world for readers by his gift .In this world, there are children who are artless and thropic,Fairy Godfathers and Fairy Godmothers who are kindhearted and magical,devils and witches who are ugly and vicious. It make us associate them with fairy tale. The works of Dickens have fairy tale color not only on the sculpture of characters but also on the use of advanced skills. He used many skills to make fantastic worlds,such as exaggeratetion, personification, grotesque and coincidence and so on .At the same time, his works have fairy tale color on narration,they have many affinities on narrative time,narrative context and narrative function with fairy tale.Pursue the fairy tale color in his works ,mainly carry on from the following few aspects: First, the children's literary he read had influence on him, it supplied raw material for the construction of fairy tale world. Second ,he adored, understood and sympathized children,these made him to observe the actuality by the eyes of children, then turned on the fantastic world.Third,his thought of philanthropy made his works full of love. Fourth,the moralistic views and aesthetic views which dominated the literary gusto of that time made him to build fairy tale world which are warm and frangant and poetic.The color of fairy tale make Dickens's works present especial aesthetic implication ,and strengthen the critique peculiarity of his works.
