The paper wants to analysis the communication of Buddhism in Dun-huang from Tang Dynasty on to the early period of Song Dynasty with the communism view. It uses the Information Theory, Architectonics and Cybernetics as the principal theory, and concretely makes use of the methods which are derived from them to study the Buddhism communication, such as the Limited and Selective Influences Theory, Cultivation Theory, Uses and Gratifications Theory, Agenda-Setting Theory. Furthermore, using the basic theories of communication to study the communication process by qualitative analysis. The main reference data are Dun-Huang documents and Dun-Huang frescoes.That results showed that, first, the communication of Buddhism in Dun-huang from Tang Dynasty on to the early period of Song Dynasty had the complete and mature communication system which coveraged of self-communication, interpersonal, communication, organizational communication, group communication and mass communication at all levels, with wide influence. Second, the communicators including the Government, the monks, and the nobility, the media including the Buddhist scripture, Bianwen, Buddhist odes and the fresco, the audience including the ruler of the monks, the manager of the monks, monks and nuns in the middle and lower classes, the nobility, the laymen common to the variability and complexity of the communication process. Third, by using the Two-step communication Theory, First Inclination Theory, Selective Engagement Theory, The Macro Effect Theory and the other related theories, reach that the communication of Buddhism had successful effects but also had profound limitations. Forth, the communication of Buddhism has played a broader role, such as social consensus, cultural value, social care and so on.The in-depth research for the Buddhism communication from Tang Dynasty on to the early period of Song Dynasty gives us a broad analysis of the spread roots of its social influence. At the same time, a new perspective has been provided by the study of the Buddhism communication, but also a very good case has been offered to rich the Communication theories and practical skills.
