In Chinese modern poetic history, Dai Wangshu and his poems exist charmingly and uniquely. This unique charm in art comes from the nutrition of Chinese and western pomes Dai Wangshu absorbed and inheritated. On the one hand, Dai Wangshu's poems inherited the tradition of classical poems. In the meantime, he also discarded some old ideas and brought forth some new things, such as beautiful forms, modern poetic emotions, changing from being more sentimental to being more reasonable, the modern transformation of classical image and so on. In this way, he realized the transformation from classical poems to modern ones. On the other hand, he learned something from the Western poetry. Meanwhile, he made some innovation, for example, the innovation of Western words, phrases and sentence patterns, different symbolism, inheritance and variations in subjects, and the keynotes of the emotions. By doing this, he made the nationalistic transformation of the Western poetry come true. Dai Wangshu's poems not only inherited the old poetic styles, but also added new things to his poems, which made his poems unique and attractive.
