| Karez is the largest underground irrigation system in the world,it hailed as underground "Great Wall",and it is a creative wonder of the working people using shortage water resources in the course of practice in arid areas.It has great value and significance in the history of water,science and technology research,at the same time it has very high research to study the history of Xinjiang, and also it has a certain impact in the world.In order to recognize,use and protect Karez better,we need to research and fully understand the value of Karez in wide range.This article taking Karez in Turpan as study object,and taking ecology,hydrology,culture,sociology,geography and other multi-disciplinary knowledge for the theoretical basis,which using literature,interviews,collating induction,fuzzy math and other method to study the formation,value,status and protection measures of Karez,then to get the following conclusions:(1)This article inspection the overall environment of Turpan,and to analysis the special natural, cultural and social environment for the formation of Karez,the Karez in Turpan that formation has influenced by the natural environment,production development needs,economic and technological level,and many other factors.(2)To use collection documentation,from the project,history and culture,function of Karez three faces to evaluate the value of Karez in Turpan.(3)From analyzing the data and charts of Karez in Turpan,on the basis of On-the-spot investigation,then get to the main reason for the decay of Karez in Turpan.(4)In view of the current situation and existing problems of Karez,then get the protection measures of the Karez in Turpan,to put forward the protection of Karez in Turpan.(5)On the basis of comprehensive analysis of Karez,do cultural researches systematically,find out the spirits of Karez culture which are:â‘ industrious spiritâ‘¡according to self-desire of human beings,the desire to live in tough environmentâ‘¢overcome the difficulties and never give up.
