Study On The Language Art Of Zhang Ailing's Fictions

As a very important writer in China modern literature, Zhang Ailing's works were first analyzed from the literature perspective, and then gradually shifted to the perspective of culture, psychology, philosophy etc. However,there is little study from the linguistic perspective till now and only few unsystematic results can be found. In addition, there is barely any achievement on her linguistic styles. Through the study on her fiction languages, this paper strives to conduct a thorough exploration on the language achievement of Zhang Ailing from the linguistic perspective, which is worthy of independent research and enjoys certain feasibility. The analysis and study of this paper are conducted in the linguistic background and the methods employed in the paper are summarization, analysis, description , as well as explanation.This paper is divided into six parts with six chapters. Chapter 1 is the literature review of the past studies and introduces the framework of the whole paper. Chapter 2 deals with the overall linguistic characteristics of Zhang Ailing'fictions. Chapter 3 to Chapter 5 are the main parts of this paper, which analyze the fictions'unique characteristics from the perspective of diction. To be more specific, Chapter 3 studies the special attention to the beauty of diction in Zhang Ailing'fictions, and analyzes the semantic characteristics and structure of the multifarious color words and the musical effect achieved through careful dictions and various linguistic methods. Chapter 4 analyzes the metaphors in the fictions from the perspective rhetoric and cultural linguistics. With the theories of humor linguistics, rhetoric and pragmatics, Chapter 5 analyzes the humorous language in Zhang's fictions. Chapter 6 is the conclusion of the whole study.To sum up, this paper endeavors to conduct a thorough research on the language achievement of Zhang Ailing's fictions so as to push the development of the study of writers'personalized language, rich the Stylistic theory to some extent, as well as play a supporting role to literature study.
