Tang dynasty is a period of great prosperity during Chinese feudal age which serves as a link between past and future in Chinese history. After the accumulation of the achievements and outcomes of feudal developments of thousands of years, she carried out a series of reformation in policy, economy, ideology, culture and so on, which presented a liberal appearance with civilized politics, flourishing economy and culture, also with a highly developed transportation system and prosperous national power. With this highly civilized atmosphere reflected in the woman's domain, there came a highly promotion of woman's status, which in turn influenced the quality of the women who lived in such an open atmosphere. This kind of change, on one hand, depended on the plain social ethos; on the other hand, mostly based on the courage of women themselves. Without their own struggle, mobilization of their own positive factors and exertion of their potential, if they had only taken things as they came, having no enterprising spirit, perhaps they would not be what they were, those that were full of vigor, passion and heroic spirit as what the history had recorded. Besides, there would never come out an empress, Wu Zetian, who is "all-powerful" and "overweening", in the feudal society under male's rule. In this text, the author tries to explore the way of exhibition and affected factors of their quality from perspectives of sociology, history and literature, hoping to provide some references for the improvement of modern women's quality.The text is divided into three parts as followings:The first part mainly tries to ascertain and analyze the quality of Tang women. Firstly, from the literary perspective. The author analyzes it mainly from the three following areas: palace women scholar, folk gifted women and courtesan poets. Secondly, from the area of sports. With the popularization of sports in Tang dynasty, women could not only play sports activities as men did at that time, but also could create new sports activities which were suitable for them to play, named Lvju of budaqiu (2 ancient Chinese ball games). Last but not the least, from the area of their role in politics. Since they were living in a period which was more open and liberal, their ambition was so strong that hardly could be found in other feudal dynasties. They made a great effort in politics and fight with the unfair event fearlessly. Moreover, they were passionate in seeking for a better life and getting advancement.The second part mainly explores the reasons that influence their high quality. Firstly, the promotion of women's social status. Followed with the former dynasty, Beichao, women's position got a great promotion under the relique of Xianbei clan. What's more, under the influence of the former emperor's policies and sayings, women's traditional value in Tang dynasty had changed a lot and their status had also improved a lot. Secondly, the loose social ethos provided little bondage for women so that they could work at will. Thirdly, more attention was paid on women's education which provided more opportunities for receiving education. The education for women in palace was advantaged, with special masters for their study in palace. Fourthly, teaching contents were various and JiaXue, the teaching at home, also prevailed. Besides common art education, calligraphy training was prevailing at that time, as well as sports activities, especially women sports, which inputted new energy for the physical career. Besides, religion in Tang dynasty was prosperous, especially Buddhism and Taoism, which also presented in women's education. As Shangguanwaner, the five sister surnamed Song (who are famous female Chinese), many women became famous with the educational form of JiaXue.The third part explores Tang women's high quality's influences on their children. Three main areas are paid more attention respectively: influences from palace women and ordinary women as well as admonition and inspiration of their open mind and self-improving to their children. Mothers taught their children the truth of being an uptight official and the morality of life. Above all, mothers taught their children to become useful persons to the society especially the fact that widow mothers who brought up their children themselves received more worthy of noticing.Conclusion:Tang dynasty was at the Silver Age in the prophase of feudal age, especially in the social, economic and cultural areas, which made the society present an open atmosphere and reflected in the women domain, which in turn improved the their social status as well as their all aspects of their quality relatively. It could be said that that kind of improvement was not only the embodiment of Tang's material and spiritual civilizations, but also the results of women's struggle to the traditional force and idea. Those women not only included palace women, women bored in official families, common women, and so on, but also included the prostitutes whose quality also got improved commonly. Because of their improvement of Tang women's quality, they could made great effort for the progress of Tang dynasty, promoting the development of society, economic as well as literary. Tang women's high quality has changed the traditional women's view, which is beneficial for the whole nation's cultural quality as well as women's liberty and progress. The author thinks exploration for women's quality in Tang dynasty is useful for our modern development from the historical angle. currently, china is in the crucial period of fully implementing the scientific concept of development and promoting social reforms.Whether modern women's quality is high or not decides the courses of our country's new country's construction and social modern construction, Their quality is tightly related to our country's development and destiny. Currently, our country's market economy is prosperous which provides good social atmosphere for starting new phase for women. With the popularization of our country's education, women's roles in politics are becoming more and more important, which is a certain social developmental trend. Through the analysis of the problem of Tang women's quality, it can see the whole social evolvemental process of Tang dynasty and provide some references for improving modern women's quality of our country and promoting gender equality development.
