Born in the collision of Chinese and West cultures with the aim of save the country,Kang Youwei formed its unique concept of East and West cultures under the factors of the history, society and himself. He regarded the fundamental differences between Chinese and Western cultures attributed to "benevolence" and "Wisdom",he thought the strengths of western culture was "Wisdom"and the weakness was "benevolence" and the strengths of Chinese culture was "Wisdom"and the weakness was "benevolence".Therefore he tried his best to harmonize Chinese and western cultures and claimed the "benevolence"of China to be the main part and the "Wisdom" of west to be used in order that he can build reunification of "benevolence" and "Wisdom" as a new culture.Besides, he transformed Confucianism according to Christian model to create a universality of the new culture of Confucianism as its core. Although the Chinese and Western cultures of Kang Youwei was na?ve without practical success,it had its specific historical value as an integral part of an important part of cultural exchange process. So far, there is still room for funding from the practical significance.
