A Preliminary Investigation Into The Linyi(Luozhuang) Dialect

Luozhuang district of Linyi city lies in the south of Shandong Province. Referring to Chinese Language Atlas, it belongs to Zhengcao part of Central Plains Mandarin. After reform and opening, the national study of dialect is fruitful. However, there haven't been any systematic investigation and study about Luozhung dialect up to now. Thus, the investigation of it in this paper is very necessarty. And its practical significance is also great.This survey delineate and analyse Luozhuang dialect's pronunciation and characteristic vocabulary: the first is Luozhuang dialect's pronunciation, which introduces the phonology system and its features, the relations between initials finials and tones, tone sandi of bisyllable, comparisons with the phonetic sounds of medieval times and so on in order to reflect the overall outlook of Luozhuang dialect and accentuates its characteristics. Besides, on the basis of this survey of Luozhuang dialect, the author would like to talk about my own views about a number of problems, which are on the"Luozhuang phonology"part of Linyi Dialect Record. This just helps to display a true and all-round Luozhuang dialect. The second is characteristic vocabulary, which reflects the diversity about people's customs and traditional culture in this area. In the meantime, because of Luozhuang economic and cultural development with high speed, Luozhuang dialect is also under fast-changing. Some features of the dialect disappears or weakens gradually. These changes also appear in people's day-to-day spoken vocabulary. Therefore, the survey records, to some extent, retain some information about the current Luozhuang dialect.
