Lizhi is famous advanced thinker in the late Ming Dynasty. Of all his theories, "innocent mind" is the most important. This paper explores "innocent mind" from different levels and angels by analyzing settings, source, main idea and significance of his ethic. In the author' s opinion, "innocent mind" not only matches with the development of society, economic, politics and culture of his time, but puts forward a new ethic norm, and shows the distinctive thought of rebellion and pursuit of personality as well. As a result of that, a trend of thought of modern times humanism started in China, which greatly contributed to modern ethic. As a pioneer of enlightenment campaign against feudalism, Lizhi has noble quality and innovation which contribute a lot to the construction of today' s ethic. and his theory, which is one of important part of Chinese tradition, is undoubtedly one resource of constructing modern culture.
