The Study Of Phonetics Of Huayuan Dialect In Hunan Province

Huayuan County lies in the west of Hunan Province, which is the joint area of Hunan Province, Guizhou Provice and Chongqin City. In this county, people speak the same dialect with slight differences. This thesis focuses on the dialect of Huayuan County, describing and generalizing its sound system and main characteristics, trying to fully understand its features. Thus, it fills the blankness in the research of Huayuan dialect system and enriches the research of southwestern Hunan mandarin.The thesis consists of seven chapters.In Introduction, the geography, population, variance of peoples and language usage in Huayuan County, together with the actuality of Huayuan dialect research, emphasis and significance of this thesis, are introduced.In Chapter One, the initial system, final system and tone system of Huayuan dialect, along with characteristics of rhyme, are described.In Chapter Two, the coordination among sound, rhyme and tone of Huayuan dialect is entirely analyzed.In Chapter Three, the different pronunciatians's system of Huayuan dialect, including the different pronunciatians of the initials, the finals and the tone, is described.In Chapter Four, the table of homophones is recorded.In Chapter Five, Huayuan dialect is compared with Beijing dialect.In Conclusion, based on some language materials, the author puts forward his own opinion and proves that Huayuan dialect belongs to the southwestern mandarin.
