Inhibition of return (IOR) refers a slower response time to the target presented in the cued location than the un-cued location when the delay between the presentation of cue and target exceeded. The researches showed that there was a closed relationship between IOR and space working memory, Potential target location, cue number and cue type are basic factors in IOR, they have different effects on the space working memory, It can be partial conclusion for research of single factor and ignoring the two others. This study was conducted to investigate the effects of potential target locations (4 and 8), cue numbers (1 and 3) and cue types (on-off cue and onset cue) to inhibition of return with cue-target paradigm. Within-subject experiment design was employed. It was found that there was a longer reaction time and a smaller magnitude of IOR when there were more potential target locations; there was slower reaction time for less cue number, the cue number was in inverse relation to the amount of IOR when SOA was longer; Reaction time was longer for onset cues when the cue numbers were 1, there was not prominent difference when the cue number was 3, but reaction time was longer for onset cues than on-off cues in the whole. The magnitude of IOR for onset cues was greater than on-off cues, but the difference for the two cue types to the magnitude of IOR was not prominent; The results show that the capacity load of space working memory and the mark intensity in space working memory have an impact on IOR.
